Think Twice before you Wrap It

Since starting my own health journey, I have made changes to my life and my family's life in order to live in a healthy way.  This also lead me to think more holistically about the environment and world around me and how little things I do can make a difference.

So  I started to think twice before doing, before buying, before throwing something re-usable away etc.  As a result, my household rubbish is about one third what it used to be, I have my own veggie and herb garden plus I feel healthier than ever.  I feel good knowing I'm making these little changes and I want to inspire others to do the same.

Today's 'Think Twice' message is:

Don't wrap it when you can pack it!

Think about any food you are taking out and about with you or storing in the fridge/freezer that can be placed in re-usable (BPA free) containers rather than wrapped in plastic.

Challenge yourself and see how long you can go before bringing out the plastic wrap.

Re-used glass jars from purchased food, glass containers with matching lids, stainless steel food containers or BPA free containers are great.  A little bit more time in the kitchen washing containers is worth it to help reduce plastic in the world.  If every household makes a little difference, together we can make a big difference to the world.

Amanda Steidle
